Many of the sites will allow you to set up automatic notices. Make a habit of following up on at least one job a day (and keep a log because many jobs will be posted again and on different sites) and you will begin to build a sound file of clients and clips.

That’s a great point! You do want to make sure you’re not querying the same job again and again.
And I agree that for writers starting out or looking to add new clients to their base, the querying one a day is a good habit.
The goal, ultimately, is to have a solid base of clients so you don’t have to query job sites any more but they’re a great place to start building a freelance writing business!
